The International Association of Social Media Professionals (IASMP) is an organisational trade body for social media professionals from around the world. The association is for experts in their field – those being paid for their social media training and expertise. It was set up to address the lack of a standardised membership body for specialists working within the social media industry, with a view to becoming the “go-to” online web portal for standards, industry etiquette, latest industry news, training resources, CPD standards and other valuable content.
IASMP is for those social media experts already working in the industry as well as for those who wish to become qualified and take on new roles within the industry, for people who are being paid to work with the various social platforms.
Most other professional industries have a trade body governing them, overseeing standards and addressing the less than qualified traders that clients may come into contact with. By being a member of these trade bodies, specialists in these industries are able to confirm their status as trained and experienced, thereby demonstrating their trusted status to current and potential clients. This is the same for The International Association of Social Media Professionals. Members of IASMP can feel confident that they are part of a trade body which provides them with all the latest developments within their industry, while alsorepresenting their interests.
IASMP is based in the United Kingdom with its headquarters in London, but it is open to members globally. IASMP is a truly global membership body,taking an interest in the industry as a whole.
